Bruce Whitmire

[VP Operations, Living Water International]
Bruce Whitmire is vice president of operations for Living Water International, a faith based organization out of Houston, Texas. Living Water International is working to provide millions of people around the world with clean, safe drinking water in Jesus’ name. Bruce will be sharing with us the affects that the lack of clean drinking water can have on the everyday life of an African woman.

Saio Williams

[Student, from Sierra Leone]
Saio Williams is originally from Sierra Leone, living through the eight year civil war that greatly effected the country. She came to the United States on September 1, 2001 and is currently attending Prince Georges Community College. She is hoping to transfer to a 4 year university to pursue a degree in Nursing with a minor in Biology. Saio will be sharing with us the effects that war has on an African Woman.

Yemi Oshodi

[Director of Anti-Trafficking in Africa, World Hope International]
Yemi Oshodi is the Director for Anti-Trafficking Programs in Africa at World Hope International. She has implemented women’s rights, HIV/AIDS, child survival, and global health projects in the US and Africa, including projects in Swaziland, The Gambia, and Guinea. Prior to working for World Hope International, Yemi worked on international advocacy and public policy interventions at PATH, an international global health organization in Washington, D.C. Prior to PATH, Yemi was an International Fellow with Population Services International in Guinea. In 2004, Yemi founded a community-based organization in Swaziland called “Umbono Wetfu,” or “Our Spirit,” dedicated to empowering youth to raise awareness of issues affecting them and mobilizing individuals to address those issues. Yemi received her MA in International Development from The University of Iowa in 2003.
